Integrated care

One animal. One file.

Integrated means the medicine, the movement work, the diet and the diagnostics are decided together, by a team that shares one record of your animal. Holistic means we look at the whole animal before we look at the symptom.

A vet and an owner with a dog in a consulting room

Rs 350The same price whether you need one strand of care or four.
1 fileEvery visit, value and X-ray in a single record, for life.
7 daysOne free follow-up on every consult, no questions.

What happens when you walk in

Six steps, in this order, every time. No animal skips the conversation.

1

We ask before we touch

Food, water, sleep, walks, stools, mood, and what changed in the house last month. Half of what we need is in that conversation. Bring the person who feeds the animal.

2

The physical examination

Hands on the animal, on the floor or on your lap if that is where it is calm. Weight, temperature, gums, joints, coat, abdomen, ears, teeth.

3

Tests, only if they change the answer

If a test will not change what we do next, we do not run it. If it will, we tell you what it costs before we run it, and the sample never leaves this building.

4

The plan, written down

Medicine, dose, diet, movement, and what to watch for. On paper, in the language you read. You leave with it in your hand, not in your memory.

The follow-up

One free follow-up within seven days on every consult. We would rather see the animal again than guess whether the plan worked.

6

The file stays

Ten years from now the vet in this room can see what your animal looked like at two years old. That is the whole point of one roof.

What we combine

Four strands. Medicine leads. The other three are added on top of it, never instead of it.

Modern veterinary medicine

The base, and it is not negotiable. Diagnosis, drugs, imaging, surgery, an operation theatre and in-patient beds. If your animal needs an antibiotic, it gets an antibiotic.

Homeopathy and herbal medicine

Homeopathic and plant based remedies, prescribed inside the consult by a registered veterinary surgeon. They support the treatment. They never replace a drug the animal needs.

Physiotherapy, massage and acupuncture

Laser, passive range of motion, and a home routine you can actually do. This is where most recoveries are won or lost, and where most clinics stop.

Diet and daily routine

What goes in the bowl, how often, and how much the animal moves. The cheapest intervention in the building and the one most often skipped. We give guidance, not a product to buy.

A worked example

A seven year old Labrador who limps

Same dog. Same limp. A different question asked.

At most clinics

  • A painkiller and a rest instruction
  • No X-ray, because nobody asked for one
  • No blood panel, on a seven year old dog going onto a long course drug
  • No word about the eight kilos sitting on that joint
  • A bill you see at the counter
  • The limp returns in three weeks

At ekam vets

  • Examination, then an X-ray of the hip
  • A blood panel, because the animal is seven and going on a long course drug
  • A weight target, written down, with the number
  • A laser course twice a week for a month
  • A five minute daily routine you can do at home
  • Cost given upfront. Follow-up in seven days
Day 0Consult, X-ray, blood panel, plan on paper
Day 7Free follow-up. Is the pain down, is the weight moving
Week 4Eight laser sessions done. Gait reassessed
Week 8Drug reduced or stopped. The dog walks

What integrated does not mean

Four things we are not doing, said plainly.

×

Not skipping a drug

Medicine leads, always. Nothing gentle is offered in place of something your animal needs.

×

Not a longer bill

The integrated consult is Rs 350. Exactly the same as any other consult here.

×

Not every service, every time

Most animals need a vaccination and a conversation. That is all they leave with.

×

Not treating what we cannot

If your animal needs a specialist or a facility we do not have, we say so and we tell you where to go.
